You got website – it is not over!

Once your website is finished, you must market it. Just because it is on the internet doesn’t mean it will work for you as expected. If you promote your website, you will maximize ROI.

You should registered your website with the Google, Bing, and Yahoo! search engines. It can take some time before these search engines index your site. Make sure your website is optimized for these and other search engines. It is recommended to update your web site on monthly bases and that way maintain web site rating as high as possible.

However, you cannot simply rely on the search engines for all your marketing. Tell your friends, co-workers, family, and whomever about your new site. Use social media such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to promote your site. Ask them to “like” it or “follow”.

E-mail everyone in your address book and tell them the news. Do a mailer or two. Also, scan the internet for web directories that pertain to your website. There is a web directory for just about everything… sometimes many. Find them and get your website listed and linked. The more, the better.

Anywhere you have your business name, list your website address underneath it. On your business sign, your stationery, your marketing materials, business cards… everywhere. When they see your name, they should also see your website address.

Few people see immediate results with their website. Keep in mind your website is an investment and it takes time to see a good return.

We strongly recommend that all your receipts have on the bottom message similar to this one: “For refill, news, coupons and more -<web_site_address> ” If your POS can print QR code on the receipt, we would suggest that you add it to the receipt as well. We will create it for you free of charge (included in maintenance).

Print business cards with website and contact information and keep them accessible to patients. We would recommend that you hand them to the patients together with receipt. Suggest to the patients to schedule next appointment for i.e. medication reviews or weight loss program online. That way they will not forget about the appointment and you can remind them ahead of time.

For at least six months post minimum three post weekly to the social media. Number of social media posts is impacting web site rating as well.

If possible, exchange links with other web sites, i.e. medical centre you are part of, other pharmacies you are associated with or any other business you might be associated with.

Depending on your budget you might consider Google AdWords or Facebook campaign for the store promotion.
